Student Conference 2021

The 2021 student conference will be hosted virtually this year (9-10 September) and participation is free. This decision to make the conference free was taken to encourage broader participation from students all over the country. This, in conjunction with the lack of travel costs and reduced time commitments, should enable students from many institutions to participate. We would like to see widespread participation from students completing an Honours Degree this year and encourage students registered for a Masters Degree to participate in the SSAG-SAAG Conference (especially if they are nearing completion of their degrees). This will expose the various groups of students to the appropriate level of research from their peers and so on.

Abstract submissions close on 15 July 2021. Registration will open shortly afterwards.

Student Conference 2019

The School of Geography, Archaeology and Environmental Studies warmly welcomes postgraduate students from South African Geography departments to the Annual Society of South African Geographers’ Student Conference. The conference will be held from 8-10 July 2019

at The University of the Witwatersrand Science Stadium Complex, Empire Road, Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
